Woolworths
Is Woolworths discriminating?

My wife bought me a pair of chinos from Woolworths this past weekend.

These chinos we the size I always wear, however, this pair was a little tight fitting.

Yesterday afternoon, Tuesday - 29 October 2013, I took the trousers back to exchange for the next size, took the same colour - khaki, same make and same style.

At the till I get told by the sales lady I need to pay in an extra R25.00 to exchange the trousers. I then notice as the size increase the price of the item also increase, and just not on trousers, all the clothing items in the men's departments.

When I asked the sales lady as to the reason for this practice, her reply - 'it's because they use more material to make the bigger sizes..."

I feel that the company discriminate against people with this practice, and this gets done in such an underhanded way that no one is aware of the practice.

This is the first time I ever encounter this practice in any of our countries retailers.

And as I can recall, discriminating is illegal as per our constitution...
