After advice from Audi and inspection by TWT I had 2 new tyres fitted on 15/10 at cost of R3822. The service & advice from Dimi was excellent. A week later a nail punctured older tyre and my wife took the car in. She had to deal with the process and Jacques (Sales). She walked out will a bill of R6166! When I discovered what happened I immediately contacted the branch manager (Jaco), who went out of his way to rectify the matter. I must compliment him on his swift reaction, which included replacing tyres (next day) with same as previous week at discounted price R3399 to compensate.
In summary Jacques (Sales) indicated to my wife (my comments in brackets):
Tyre cannot be repaired and both older tyres beyond recommended life (I inspected old casings and we agreed easy to repair puncture & about 5000km left. They can be refitted)
No stock of Conti in the country and no choice but to fit Yoko (There was ample stock - he)
Tyre life is less than 4yrs and cracks in casing from age (At 31900km I dont buy it - what cracks? Maybe Conti should explain);
How many vulnerable people will fall victim to this unethical behaviour of Jacques. This compromises TWT's great reputation.
