I am a tiling contractor and went to Tile Africa Centurion to collect samples for a tender at a school. The tender was accepted and I purchased the tiles from T.AfricaGarsfontein. Whilst making the purchase, they informed me that the tile was on special but only at their branch. I asked whether it was the same tile. I required a tile which would not be slippery in outdoor conditions. She promised me that although these were 2nd grade tiles, I would only note a variation in colour and in some cases size. I took their word and bought the tiles. After installation, the tiles are very smooth and not at all similar to the sample I bought in terms of roughness. I have spoken to the branch manager as well as regional manager and both confirm that the only difference should be colour and size not surface texture. I asked on more than one occasion whether these tiles were suitable for outdoor use at a school and every time more than one salesperson assured me so. Now TA are hiding behind some print on a box which says NO GUARANTEES ON 2nd grade tiles. I will be expalining this incompetence and lack of honestly to 300 parents at a feedback meeting. You are costing me more than R 15000.POOR
