Refused to exchange a watch

I bought a Bad Boy Watch from Edgars Southgate, on Saturday, 12- Oct-2013, and realized after, that the clip comes loose while wearing it. I decided to go do an exchange at Edgars Melrose Arch, as it is close to work and convenient. They refused to exchange or refund the watch, even though they had the exact same watch in the store and said I should go back to the store I bought it from. Does Melrose Arch Edgars have a higher standard as to not accept exchanges or refunds.

I was very frustrated, as I have been purchasing items from Edgars for years and I have never experienced them saying no to a refund or exchange on a fault.

To add to that, the cashier, cashed an item for more than it was priced and corrected it but insisted that I should sign the slip that had the incorrect amount on. This was a bit annoying as I was purchasing on my account and putting my signature on an amount that is incorrect means that I accept that amount.

I've been shopping at Edgars Melrose Arch for a while and have noticed their attitudes towards their customers is very demeaning. I hope something gets done about this.
