This has happened to me before in a different woolworths - the item is on special on the shelf and when you pay its the normal price. That time I noticed and fought it over, and then they gave me the product at the on special price displayed.
This happened again last week but I was much more trusting.
I bought a salmon x 2 pack with sauce that was on special fr R39.99 (price R54.99 was crossed out in red). So exited about the special I didn't think to check when I paid for everything. Of course when I got home i noticed they charged me the full R54.99 - that I saw was the old price on the special tag.
I made a fuss in the shop last time and feel that its really rude and sneaky to do that, all these moms buying a whole trolley full of goods have no idea what they think they are buying on special will be full price. I ate to think they are also doing that with the buy 2 get one free etc.
Luckily that time I only bought 5 things - so I noticed.
I'm very unimpressed and don't want to have to constantly check the cashier. A shop like woolworths should be more aware of specials and putting them in the systems or taking off the special prices.
What a inconvenience.
