For the fourth time in the past couple of years Steve's Spar in Blackheath is selling packaged meat without deducting the weight of the packaging. They do not tare their scales! I bought two packets of meat yesterday. One was vacuum packed and the other was in a styrofoam tray. The weights shown on both included the weight of the packaging which is ILLEGAL. The chops were 490g. but the packaging weighed 35g, so I only got 455g of meat, but paid for 490g. The same applied to the chicken I bought. I have confronted the manager of this store on two previous occasions for the same problem (the first time I let them get away with it) - I was assured it wouldn't happen again. Well it is happening and customers are being ripped off. Apart from that, what they are doing is against the law. I won't be buying meat from them again, that's for sure.
