MISLEADING OF CUSTOMERS

In February 2013 I called Truworths Credit Dept to inform them that I lost my job and couldn't afford to pay the R500 monthly installment but can only afford to pay R200, which I paid. The following month, I was called by a call centre agent who said to me I was in arrears because I didn't pay the whole amount and that I should settle immediately. I told him that I did make arrangements to pay R200. To my horror he told me there was nothing recorded and that it was their job to call everyone to pay. Whats I don't understand is that on the statement they ask people to call their Cape Town number 021 460 2351 to make arrangements. Upon logging on here, I realise that I am not the only one having this problem. It is now end of September and have been harassed by constant phone calls and text messages even on weekends, and now letters of demand. When some of these agent became hostile and aggressive I decided not to answer their calls and it became impossible to speak to a senior person to explain my circumstances. Why ask people to make arrangements when the request holds no water? I haven't skipped the R200 payment since I committed to it.
Can Truworths please explain their action
