On the 24 of September I visited our local Checkers in Ben Fleur to buy FRESH cheese to serve my guests later the afternoon. However, when I started preparing the meal, which require fresh cheese, I realized that the cheese had been frozen before it was sold to extend the shelf lifetime? I knew this because the cheese was moist inside the package and crumbled into pieces if one would try to cut it into slices. This is not the first time I got frozen cheese in stead of fresh cheese at a Checkers store. I previously brought a problem to the managers attention, but she was unhelpful and told me its not a real problem. I feel as a consumer I have the right to get what I pay for, and if the supplier sells fresh products they have to make sure the product is in deed fresh and stored according to regulations. The product was Clover cheddar full-flavoured 800g value pack with the bar code of: 6001299015007 and a best before date of 11/12/2013. I would appreciate it if someone will check this up and make sure the staff follow regulations. Thank you.
