Account inaccessible but pestering me with calls

Account holder since 1997. Always pay my installments. Last purchase with my card was Feb 2013 before my 2nd boy's birth.
2 weeks after his birth my eldest (3year old) broke his leg and I had to go back to work at the same time so I barely get to the shops. I still had an unresolved query on my account. Didn't get time to query.
Account became overdue. Called me. I wanted to resolve query. They told me to go in store, They can't help me. They just want to know when I'll pay.
So I have given up on trying to sort it out and offered to clear my balance and pay in full on last phonecall. when I got to the store to pay, my card has been blocked. Also informed that my card is old and if not used for purchases every 3 months it is blocked. So not sure if blocked because of non use or non payment. But now I cant pay or use. After I agreed to settle account I got 2 more calls from same number outside office hours. Don't know what that was about. 7h55 on public holiday & 7am this morning??
Waiting for store manager at Stellenbosch to call me back. Went there this morning, so not a reflection on him. Its bad service from head office. He, Victor, was really helpful.
