I went shopping at woolworths to buy some treats for my daughter who was ill and for dinner. i joined the long queue to pay as i browsed at magazines. i noticed a cashier going to a till, i glanced up and saw an A4 sign saying "offline to all banks". I asked the cashier if this was still the case, and she said yes.
I was very angry as i had spent 35 minutes doing my shopping only to find out i could not pay with my card at the till. i walked out, leaving my trolley where it was.
I drove home and phoned the manager, he said that he was unaware of the signs at the tills. when i asked as to the lack of signage at the main entrance, he thanked me for my suggestion.???!!! What a pathetic and weak response. he took my number and said another manager would contact me. 4 days later no reponse. A friend told me that the same thing happened to him at hilton woolworths.
Why not inform customers BEFORE they waste their time shopping when they have no cash on them??
