XBOX Broke - I have to deal with it myself???

Bought my Xbox two months ago. Now it starts shutting down for no reason?? I took it back to Toys R Us for them to tell me that I have to contact Microsoft myself as they want to deal with the consumer directly...

They are basically saying, thank you for your money, now deal with your own Sh$%#. They gave me a number, which I called and the person answering told me that I need to contact another number, which ended up being a call to the Microsoft office in Europe??? There my cellphone bill rockets.

What do I do?? I'm a working person with a full time job, I cannot spend my days trying to contact Microsoft??
