I took a vintage Rolex watch for an evaluation to check authenticity, which would have been as easy as removing the watch back cover and looking at the inside of the watch.
The watchmaker held it in his hand for three seconds, and declared it fake. They refused to do any effort on the watch further.
I took the item to a watchmaker willing to do the effort, and it turns out that the watch was authentic all along.
If they can get a basic check so wrong, what else can they get wrong?
