On Sunday the 28th of July, my friend and I went monthly shopping at the Pick n Pay in Table View on Blaauwberg road opposite Bay Side Mall.
This might have been the worst shopping experience we have ever had.
To begin with the ordeal: I noticed that the store now is in the market of retailing Television sets.
I picked one out and gave the shop assistant my I.D. and TV licence. He told me he will fill out the documentation while i carry on with my shopping. I came around the corner to notice the assistant packing the demo TV in the box for me quickly. I asked if this was for me, he said yes. I asked the manager, Ivan, what discount will be deducted, as this is a demo second hand set. He laughed at me and said, it is already on special. This is not the case. I requested the Hisense 39inch at R3400. This set was NOT on special.
needless to say, i did not carry out on this purchase.
The second incident, we went to the butchery department to purchase the mutton packs that was advertised in store at R44, 99p/kg and receive Jimmy's Sauce 750ml free. We weighed the pack at the butchery, only to be shocked to see the weight of the sauce was part of the weight of the pack.
