Service for heater repairs

I bought a GH312 Alva gas heater from Builders Warehouse in March/April this year and unfortunately lost the slip. On June 24th my heater stopped working and I spoke to Deidre at Alva call centre. Her response was that without a receipt i have no warranty (fair - although I still think there are alternatives of confirming whether it still falls under the warranty period).

My frustration was the service she delivered, not listening to what I was asking and harping on the options available to me and their costs. bring your heater to Alva or we can send a technician out at what ever cost. After several times of attempting to ask whether they have other options/ if i can speak to a service consultant with technical experience or a different agent i literally just gave up and hung up the phone. Needless to say - i still don't have a heater

Your service consultants should have some basic level of technical knowledge about products offered by the company and go beyond just punting limited service options and their costs
