This goes back a year or so but I am still impressed with Makro. About 5 years ago I bought a pair of Gardena garden shears which, after a succession of gardeners and rough handling, broke. They gave good service so I went to buy a new pair only to find that Gardena gave a lifetime guarantee on that product. I asked if I could get a new pair free. The receipt/till slip had long since disappeared but they took my card number and searched through all my purchases on their computer and eventually found it which proved I had bought the shears there. A new pair was given to me and I only had to pay the R20 odd that was the difference between the price paid all those years ago and the current price.
