On 10 July 2013 at 11.20 am, after waiting for about 12 minutes for a customer with a trolley laden high with purchases, it was my turn. The customer was a portly man, and when he stepped out of the way a typed notice on A4 size paper with 2 cm high letters was revealed, attached to the side of the till. It proclaimed: "Cards only". As I pay in cash only I had to go to another till - 12 minutes of my valuable time wasted. It was the first time in my entire life of 81 years that my cash was not acceptable. The notice should have been displayed prominenty.
