Hairline crack on kettle in less than a month

I bought a Morphy Richards kettle from Boardmans Greenpoint on the 11 May 2013.
I went away for 2 weeks from the 25 May - 8 June where the kettle was not used at all. (I have airtickets to prove that I was away) Around the 18 June, I noticed a hairline crack on the kettle.
On the 21 June, I took it back to Boardmans Canal Walk.
Stacey at Boardmans Canal Walk told me that I had missed the one month return period but she would get the Morphy Richards rep to have a look at it and come back with a solution.
On the 3 July, I still hadn't heard from Stacey and called her. Only to be told that they had mislaid my kettle and nothing had been done. She said she would call me back.
After not hearing from her, I went into the store on the 7 July. Still nothing had been done and I make her promise to get back to me the next day, ie 8 July.
On the 8 July, Stacey calls back to say there is nothing they can do.
I call Morphy Richards to find out why, only to be told that the rep has not seen the kettle at all.
I'm appalled and angry that Boardmans have made no attempt to garner a positive result for a long standing customer and believe at this stage they should credit or replace this kettle
