I went to Makro today to purchase "Sheen Hair Straightener". The product was packed on the shelf singly. I took one and when I tried to pay for it, the cashier told me it is not sold singly. I told her that it is packed singly, so why could I not buy it singly. She sent a runner to find the barcode for the single item. After about fifteen minutes, he returned with the barcode, but it was for a 6-pack of the product. He then went back to get the price for one and came back and told me it is not sold singly. I asked him to get the manager as I wanted to speak to him. He ran again, looking for the manager, which he did not find. In the meantime, a customer service agent approached me and the cashier told her the problem. When the runner came back I told him that if he can find me a 6-pack, I'll take it as I really need the product. He went to look for a 6-pack, but could only find 5 single items.
The Customer service agent then phoned the manager who told me he can do nothing if the nightshift pack products singly that should not be packed like that. In the end I could not buy the product as there was not enough to buy a pack and they refused to sell me one at price/item!
