Dis-Chem
Pharmacist gave medication not prescribed by doct

On the 9th of March 2013 I took my 6month old baby to see Dr B Morua, she advised that he had flu symptoms and his temperature was too high. She prescribed Amoxil S . I took the prescription and came to your Dis-chem in Woodmead where I was attended to by Bandela Mgoqi. I took and started giving it to my son the same day, the instruction for the antibiotic he gave me (Amoclan) 2.5ml to be taken three times a day before meals. On Sun I noticed that my son had a bit of skin rash and thought it was due to him having a high body temperature. On Monday the rash had spread to his whole body, i took him to the doctor who advised that dis-chem had given wrong medication, I was utterly dismayed in disbelief, my child's life was compromised, I was inconvenienced emotionally and physically. We come to the pharmacy sick with the sole hope that we will be helped to get better. The worse could have happened to my child. This was undisputed negligence, The Dis-chem motto is Pharmacy who care, I think you need to look into changing that as this incident does not represent it by far. would appeal that Dis-chem Pharmacy to reimburse the consultation fee amount R272.82 paid due to this incident.
