I have just returned from Pick n Pay Northgate having gone to get cash from the bank just before that. The bank gave me a cash amount which had three 5c coins in it.
When I tried to pay for my groceries of R38.10 (with two 5c coins in the payment) I was told by the cashier that the whole of Pick n Pay does not accept 5 cent coins and that it has been more than a year since that policy came in.
How does a bank in a same shopping centre issue ''unwanted'' coins when merchants in the same centre will not allow it as legal tender. Is this a case of misinfromed employees or Pick n Pay moving towards removal of some
