Don't buy an Alva gas baai as there is no back up service. Parts can only purchased in Cape Town and you have to pay for the courier service, but there is a branch is Durban.
When you phone ALVA Head office in Cape Town they refer you to someone in Durban (Clinton - 0735664426 that knows absolutly nothing about service, I call him every week and he says he will get back to me. To date he has not returned my call.
I called Alva Head Office again and all they could say is I would have to pay for the courier service for the parts. They only deleiver to Durban twice a year. So the reality is there is NO back up service.
SO NEXT TIME YOU NEED A GAS BRAAI DO NOT BY AN ALVA... You will reget it later. Buy cadac and you will not have this problem.
I called the lady who deals with spares in Cape Town and requested to deal with the manager. The manager told me she would sort it out ---i am still waiting...
The moral of the story is, do not believe there is after sales service from ALVA. TF DOES NOT EXIST...
They do not know about service or after sales service.
Be very careful...
