Mix Telematics Africa (Matrix Vehicle Tracking)
Car written off but forced to pay premiums!

I joined Outsurance last year June and one of the terms was that a tracking device would be installed on my car for free. I had the device installed and was told to sign for it. Last month, 27 September 2013, I was involved in a car accident and my car was written off. I called matrix to inform them I had been involved in an accident and would like the contract cancelled and for them to stop sending me sms with a power down on the vehicle.

On the 4th of Oct I sent an email requesting for my contract to be cancelled as instructed by Nomhle Mdluli. At the end of Oct they debited my premiums. I was shocked because I was no longer using the device, the car was written off. I called them and was requested to resend them the email again which I did. On the 11th of November I called them to check if all was settled and I was told I could not cancel my contract. I was told I had to continue paying my premiums till 2015 or pay R900. I think this is wrong as that device is not working so basically I am paying for nothing. Nowhere in the contract does it say I have to pay them such ridiculous amounts.

This company is the worst, stay away if you can.

I am really angry and disappointed.
