On 29 October 2013 my alarm and beams were acticated by robbers breaking into my property while we were away. It took ADT (who has dedicated vehicles in my sudurb) about 15 minutes to respond to the alarm activation. As a result of the poor response from ADT, the robbers had enough time to goods to the value of R250 000 including a motor vehicle. I arrived at the home about 20 minutes after the incident and when I questioned the ADT Security officer about the poor response time he said that they were very busy because of wind triggering alarms in the area- there was no wind at the time and I suspect this to be the standard ADT Security response to that question! investigating officer said that he was not surprised at my experience with ADT Security and that some of the ADT Security gaurds were recently arrested when they were caught in a in the area. It is now 5 days afrer the incident at my house and to date I have not been contacted by anybody from ADT to check if were are OK, to offer advice on how to improve security, to offer an appology for the poor resonse, etc. I have cancelled my ADT service today
