Strugling to cancell my ADT contract

I have signed a contract for a standard armed response on the 09/02/2013 with Tommie Cronje, on the 14/02/2013 I contacted Tommie Cronje and informed him that we can not afford the armed response premium and would like to cancel the service until further notice. He then informed me that at that stage the debit orders were already send to the bank and that he will not be able to stop it, I then told him that we can not afford it and will have no alternative as to go into the bank and reverse the debit order, he then said that I can do that. That was the end of our conversation. He never informed me that should I want to cancel the service that I should contact the head office and send through a written cancellation. Last week I got a call from ADT's account department informing me that I owe -R1500, I told the consultant that I cancelled the service with Tommie and then only she told me that I should have done a written cancellation. On the 31/05/2013 I have lodge a query on the ADT website but no-one has contacted me yet. I have been sending emails on a daily basis now with no reply.
