I was involved in a car accident on 31 Aug'15 in Westonaria. The damage to my vehicle was minimal, however, the tow truck driver advised that he has a workshop and will check my wheel alignment before I drive back to Roodepoort. I drove my own vehicle, and followed him. He pulled into the drive way of a private residence, I pulled in, and right behind me, 2 of his vehicles pulled in and blocked the exit. I saw no evidence of any equipment to check wheel alignment. I enquired about this, at which point a guy crawled under my vehicle and did a visual check. I was told to now pay them R2500. I obviously disputed this as they had done nothing to assist me in any way. I was told to pay them cash otherwise they would not let me leave. They brought me a receipt that stated that the works done was "strip & assemble lift of bakkie". I attempted to cross this out at which point they said they will "bliksem" me if I do not sign as is. I was forced to pay the money and sign the receipt. I was outnumbered by these thieves and they intimidated me to the point that I had to do as they said otherwise I probably would still be standing there trying to get my vehicle out of their yard.
