Last night a group of us went out to Sandton City for dinner and a movie. About 4 of the 7 of us had left overs from our supper in polystyrene containers and wrapped in plastic. However after buying our tickets we were informed that we were not allowed to take food into the Cinema and it was taken to the managers office. I didn't want to kick up too much of a fuss at the time as we were almost late for the movie and I didn't want to embarrass the people I was with. All of our reaction was that we wouldn't fetch it afterwards. For all we know the manager could be some sadist that gets a kick from spitting in people's left overs. We just do not live in a society where you can trust people with your food to that extent. I just do not understand why someone could not have informed us whilst we were at the ticketing machine buying our tickets that we would not be allowed in with our food. Once of us could then have run to the car or we could then have decided not to go to the movies. It cannot be that unexpected that people would go for dinner before going to the movies on a Saturday night and would have left overs. You could have handled he situation better.
