GET DISCONNECTED FOR APPARENT DEBT OF 2008

After I phoned on the 7 of January 2014 to reconnect my service on a lower package, and the call center personnel told me the amount to connect on the phone, I paid the amount given and my service was connected. On the 29th Jan 2014 I called again because I wanted to upgrade to the R275 package and once again they told me the amount to pay on the phone and I was connected. Today I got an sms that my services has been suspended I need to pay an amount of R530.00 today for reconnection. I phoned the call center just to hear that I need to pay the amount for past services from 2008. I asked them how come they didn't tell me about the amounts when I phoned, and why it wasn't showing on my statements or on the popups you get on DSTV mail. The only amounts reflected was my premium. If they told me when I phoned that was the amount I would have paid it, now that I don't have the money they suspended my viewing and don't want to give me the chance to pay it by the end of Feb. How can they just put an amount on without putting it on the statments or on the sms they so easily send you to say you have been disconnected. Could not even speak to a manager all was apparently in meeting.
