My mother needed to travel from Shelly Beach to Hopetown by bus. After phoning around, we came to the conclusion that the "best" service will be had by visiting the Computicket in Checkers. The attendant was sitting there yawning and unhelpful. Since the infrastructure is pathetic, requiring a person to travel from the coast to Jhb and then back south towards the N. Cape, we needed two tickets, a day apart. The attended proceeded to book BOTH tickets for the same day. The Intercity leaving Shelly at 7h30, arriving in Pta 10 hours later, but the Greyhound leaving Pta at midday going to Hopetown. Not expecting such a stupid mistake, we noticed it only when we got home, which meant we had to return to the store. It cost us a 20% cancellation fee, which my mom, a pensioner can ill afford. I want that money returned, as it was not a cancellation, but the fault of the incompetent agent.
