On Friday 13th September(perhaps this was the problem! ) I placed an online order for a DVD with The Greek Merchant.
Their website offers same day delivery for Cape Town.
The full amount of the order plus delivery charge were taken off my credit card immediately.
On Monday 16th September I checked my order status online to find it said "on hold". I emailed them on the three different email address on their website and received an automated reply to say they were experiencing heavy email load and would reply in due course.
I sent further emails with URGENT ATTENTION in the subject line as advised in their automated reply and received no reply.
I tried, repeatedly, to phone the 3 different telephone numbers on their website and none of these calls were answered.
In desperation I left a message on their Facebook page and got a reply to say my order would be delivered today, 19th September.
Needless to say nothing has arrived and my order status now says"processing".
On their Facebook page I see numerous other complaints from people with the same problem.
I wonder if these people actually exist or whether they are a dodgy bunch who take your money and disappear into the ether!
