Improving things worse - and then making us pay!!!

We installed DStv PVR & Extra View in October/November last year. Up till now, we've had no problem. Our two grown children make most use of the PVR, my husband and I the Extra View.

On Thursday, the PVR showed we'd used 80% of our storage; without recording anything new, on Friday it showed 100% and refused to display the list so we could delete some of the programmes. We tried switching off & switching on again, unplugging, Menu 13 - nothing worked. Extra View was fine.

We phoned the customer service number on Sunday, holding on for 25 minutes for someone to pick up. The person on the other end gave us a whole lot of buttons to press, cables to switch, menus to try. At the end, nothing had changed, but when we switched on our TV in the bedroom later, Extra View wasn't working.

I tweeted & DStv replied, with a message to send them the details. I did that, explaining everything, & they responded by saying we need to call out DStv-accredited technicians to sort it out - and we need to pay them!

So either the DStv technicians who installed the system installed it incorrectly or this customer service agent messed it up. Multichoice in either case are making it our problem to fix!!
