I was at Cavendish Ster-KInekor Cinema 7 and two thirds of the way through the movie the power went out. i was concerned that there were no back-up lights and if it weren't for cell phone lights we'd have been in pitch black darkness. I e-mailed Ster-Kinekor for clarity on the situation as this is clearly a violation of health and safety. They responded saying it would be forwarded to the relevant department and I would receive an official response with 48 hours. Sure enough I received a call from Nisreen at Cavendish to explain that there was a failure of two of their UPS systems which lead to the issue and that it was being resolved. Accidents happen but this was handled well, most importantly I spoke to someone human (rather than the usual e-mail ricochet) and they took responsibility.
