First contract 2 years ago (incl R1000 admin fee). Never met Ruan in 2 years send a friend. I asked for a 1 year contract he gave me a 5 month contract, I didn't check as an agent gives you the max time and not just 5 months. After 5 months he increased our rent with 10%. The property was extremely neglected and we spend our own money to fix the property up and did not claim back. When we moved in there were not even 1 light bulb. I asked for a second contract he said we will refer back to the previous contract. On the 14 Feb 2013 I received a new contract stating my rent going up with 15% and a R600 admin fee on the 1 April. On 15feb I notified them I will give the 1 month and 2 weeks notice and move out on the 30 March before the increased rent comes into affect on the 1 April. I kept asking for confirmation of the notice. Nicole kept telling me Ruan will phone me (which he did 15:54 - 6min before they close, so when I phone back the they closed at 16:00) I kept telling her I want it in writing. She responded I must give 2 months so I can only move out 30 April (then I am 7 month pregnant I and my husband is out of the country) They can give 1 month 2 weeks notice but i cant
