Rawson Properties
Failed in their duty to disclose information

A Rawson Agent did not disclose info about an informal settlement 800m from a property he sold to my elderly parents. There have been numerous reports of drugs sold from this location. They are cash buyers & recently immigrated back to SA from Australia (30 Dec 2013). When confronted he said he 'clean forgot' to mention it, conveniently after the offer to purchase had been signed legally binding them to the sale. I understand the legally binding contract but this was very important info which he failed in his duty to disclose & quite frankly put my family's lives at risk. When they made the discovery he refused to allow them to get out it even though it was within his power to do so. This is blatent display of lack of ethics & just plain human compassion but hey those two human characteristics don't get you commission now do they. Potential buyers be warned, this is how Rawsons allow staff to conduct business. Do your homework on the property & it's surrounds before you sign anything. John Weston is the type of agent you could be dealing with when buying & he may 'clean forget' to tell you detrimental details about a sale until it's too late & you're legally bound.
