We bought a house recently with an air conditioner and was promised the remote, yet the previous owner and agent can't find one, which means we have only one setting and we have to plug it in and out to work it. The alarm system could not be changed or activated because the owner nor agent had the code. To get it working we had to override the main switchboard but found on closer inspection that it was burnt out. Both products were specified in the contract and had to be replaced by us.
