Return of deposit

I signed a contract for renting a house.day after signing my circumstances changed and I notified agent that I want to cancell my lease contract.i asked him about my deposit, as my cancelation of lease contract was in the period.he notified me back that everything is in order and that they would pay out my deposit following day.that was Thursday afternoon according to Johan.to today nothing is reflecting in my account and after numerous requests to mail me proof of payment, he didn't do it either.im in my grace period of cancelation according contract and are intitled to my deposit.can you help me please
