I am one of the concerned citizens of this country (South Africa) and my heart is bleeding as I type this.
A company named Super Tube, which is currently doing renovations for City Property in South Africa, Pretoria, Time Place Building, Bosman and Pretorius Street: is exploiting its employees.
The poor hard working men and women who are taken advantage of because of that they are desperate for employment are getting paid unacceptable amounts of money.
These deprived people are even working under conditions which do not meet the South African OHS standards.
Just the other day, reps from City Property came to view the progress Super Tube had made with the renovations and some people were locked (hidden) in a room just to look "good "on City Property`s eyes..."For more jobs"?
Super Tube can get as many jobs as it pleases but should really ensure that the workers are really taken care of.
Of course I am not suggesting that uneducated people should earn the same as educated people.
What I would love to see happen is City Property arranges for an audit how the company it gives jobs treats its people.
The visit should be done unexpectedly and employees should be interviewed unanimously.
