Whilst searching for a new tenant I was approached by a number of companies.
I accepted the assistance of any agent that approached me within the 1st 24hrs that I had my ad up on Gumtree.
Andre from solid letting brought clients to view the place and Rawsons brought the same clients to view the same place.
Andre and I speak and he tells me he has clients that are interested and Rawsons does the same. I tell both agents that nothing is confirmed until I see a credit check and meet the client.
After acknowledging my terms I get this sms from Andre:
"Hi Itamar, the client has sent through all and made initial payments at his request. His file will be finalised today and sent through to you. I'm in meeting etc til 1 and will call you after. Regards Andre."
Nothing was sent and no phone-call.
After meeting the tenant through Rawsons and signing the lease it later turns out that it's the same tenant. They have already paid Andre the wrong amount for the apartment as a 2 month deposit was discussed.
I have signed nothing with Solid Letting and now they demand compensation and are holding the tenants money.
