I usually travel from Centurion to Sandton on weekdays but my job requires me to sometimes travel further than Sandton station - to Rosebank or sometimes only to Midrand. Past experience has taught me that my 7-day pass cannot comprehend this change and refuses to accommodate my travel if I deviate from the usual route.
The card can also not assist me in buying a new pass if all 10 of my entries have not been used. This is ridiculous because I do not wich to queue on a Monday morning or drive through on a Sunday to buy my ticket because it hasn't expired by Friday.
For this reason, I have had to buy a second gold card on which I load cash to be able to travel further. I've often used the week-pass card to enter but used my cash-card to exit at Rosebank station when my job necessitated it.
Now, I find that my card has been blacklisted (R320 gone) and cannot be used unless I fill in a form. The form requires my ID, banking details & passport number.
I have NO idea why Guatrain would need to know my passport number - and frankly this seems like an identity scheme.
Why can't they simply deduct the required amount from my card for these so-called 'illicit entries'?
