South African Police Service
Being harrased and 10111 puts the phone down!

I went to City of Tshwane (Centurion branch) and there was an incident on the way out of the premises at the boom gate. The security insisted on checking in what is in my boot and I said no because there are NO signs saying that they have the right (according to the law) to inspect my car. They have NO IDEA what I had in my boot when entering the premises so how would they know what to look for when I exit?!? The 3 guards started shouting and swearing at me that it is their right and the one even tried opening my boot! I felt in danger and I phoned 10111 I spoke to someone for 56 seconds explaining what is going on and I told her where I was and that it is around the corner of the Lyttelton Police Station. Then there was a click and nothing. I phone again twice at 10:54 am and again the phone was put down in my ear both times. I then contacted my dad to come and help and he came immediately.

I was in a state and was crying because I cannot even rely on the police for help - it was 3 men against me (1 woman) and the police put the phone down in my ear!!! What would have happened if they pulled a gun or knife on me?! Very POOR service!!!
