I received a fine notice in October which will result in a court appearance as the vehicle in question was travelling at 44 km more than the speed limit. However the vehicle in the photograph is a white panel van and my vehicle is a red Kia Optima. One can see from the photograph clearly that the end of the registration is NH, mine is MH. This indicates to me that no last check is carried out on fines to see if all the details are correct.
I sent in the representation form to have the fine rescinded on Oct 19, it is now Dec 15 with no response from AARTO. Based on other comments against AARTO i now cannot be sure that the document was ever delivered as most complaints seem to be about non delivery via E mail (mine was returned) or the fax to E mail number not working (mine was delivered.
I now have nine months for this to be resolved before i have to renew my licence which i will not be able to do as the renewal form will show an outstanding fine (court appearance) In the mean time the person in the panel van has got off scot free travelling 124 km in an 80 km limited area.
In short the whole system stinks and based on all the other comments will never work in its current form.
