I am highly disgusted at how the Traffic Department is handling a matter of ours. We paid a fine in November, the fine was R500 and got it down to R250. In December, the system at the traffic crashed so certain records got deleted. Our fine payment was one of those. In March we were driving and got pulled over. They wanted to arrest my boyfriend because he had an outstanding fine of R500. They confiscated his license and refused to give it back until the R600 was paid. R500 for the fine and R100 for the warrant of arrest. We paid the R600 and got all documentation. We went to the traffic to get our R600 back as they said if there is proof they will give the money now. So we went, now they said we can only get R250 back, not R600. Because we only paid R250 for the original fine. But then where is our R600. They are from us and I won't accept it. Who do you speak to in this country regarding a matter like this. It's pathetic that they can blatantly take money from people and aren't worried about it because it isn't there money.
