Last year in apr i got a fine for R500 i went to pay the fine at the post office within my 30day discount period of R250. i was told by a staff member that i had to pay R300 as R50 is post office handeling fees. 31st Dec i wanted to renew my driver's lic but was told i cant as i have a warrent against me for an unpaid fine. i found out that the fine i paid at the post office was never paid, the infringment notice number and date on the p.o.p was not the same as the one on the fine itself. when i spoke to the P.O manager he said he did not understand why i paid R300 as he doesnt know of any handeling fees. I now have to clear my name of the warrent by paying R620 towards the fine as it has increased due to non payment, my vehicle lic has expired and i will have to pay penalties on that as the P.O. has not come back to me to rectify their negligance. it's going to cost me just under R1000 to renew my License as to where i was suppose to cost only R348. and all i am getting from the post office (even after emailing their complainst dept) is they think that when i went to pay the fine the system showed an old fine that was paid insted. Looks like they just pay as they please
