I took my mom to the Breast Clinic at Helen Joseph and what terrible experience. While everyone was waiting to be seen to, Dr Carol Benn walks in and starts ranting and raving at all the patients sitting there treating them like they have no class or dignity. Even Dr Thomas that saw my mom isso unfriendly and shows no sympathy did not even look at the mammogram my mom brought with. Attitudes of the staff is poor and people get pushed from pillar to post because no one know what they are doing. Just because these patients dont have medical aids it does give these doctors the right to treat patients in an undignified manner. The toilets have no seats on them which is disgusting and no soap to wash hands or toilet paper and this is a hospital, hygiene should be a priority. I found the visit a waste and sad to see people being treated this way and I was not even the patient, my mom was and she is 70 years old. To all doctors at Helen Joseph money does not buy class or respect. Should be ashamed of yourselves. One day your family might end up going to a government hospital but then please dont complain.
