A couple of friends and I registered for the walk the talk and opted for the Sandton Gautrain station park and ride facility. We paid our entry fees and an park and ride fees; then arrived at the Sandton Gautrain station as advised and took the bus to the walk. We walked and took the bus back to receive news that we had to pay an additional R100 for the parking. I found this to be unfair as I understood the park & ride fee to include "parking" and a "ride" to and from Marks Park; I feel this was a rip off as all we received was a "ride" and no one was told this before the ride. With Sandton Shoping Mall being a street away, I would have parked there for a flat rate of R10 instead f paying 10 times the price to use the Sandton Gautrain station. Totally unimpressed wit this. Furthermore, we had to wait in long ques to pay and then we were stuck in the parking for over an hour as no one was there to manage that situation that had arisen due to people not wanting to pay this ridiculous parking fee.
