Month to Deliver between Jhb and Pta

My son ordered an item on 22 MArch, it was sent on 25 March from Jhb by the agents. it is now 23 APRIL and the item is still at Tshwane Hub since 31 March (according to the website and callcentre).

How is this possible? According to the callcentre: (received more than one response on numerous occasions)
1. There was a strike at the Postal service - they're still recovering from the backlog
2. There is certain processes that the items have to go through before being delivered (REALLY? A MONTH's processes?)
3. It would've been easier to pick up the item from the agent... ( If it was possible - don't you think I would've done it!?).

No response on any emails - and the CallCentre takes FOREVER to pick up a phone - IF they answer it...
