I am aware of the postal strike.
I have a Parcel that has been sent on Monday the 27 th 2014 From Benoni North Postal Branch for delivery to Middelburg MP Post office.
I have been tracking the parcel the whole week
On the same day I saw the following:
Item accepted by branch 2014/01/27 14:35 BENONI NORTH
On the 28th I saw the following:
In transit 2014/01/28 07:46 BENONI NORTH ITEM OUT - POST OFFICE
It has been 4 days since there has been an update.
The parcel was in transit on Monday, so there shouldn't be a delay because of the strike. There was said that only temp workers are on strike and no full time personnel.
My plant has been standing from Saturday, and without the part it is not possible to get it working again. Thus costing me hundreds of thousands of rands in production loss per day.
If this carries on for any longer I will be obligated to hold the post office liable for the loss of profit.
I have even gone as far as phoning and asking if I can pick up the parcel myself because of the urgency.
But to my surprise nobody has an idea of where it is.
How pathetic is our postal services.
