I rented a secure parking space in Johannesburg's CBD over the course of last year. I cancelled my contract through an email to Martin Mashiane, Operations Manager, 4 December. I was told I would receive my deposit of R1000 within the month. Instead, Interpark debited an additional month's rent, thus bringing the total to R1400 owed to me.
Four months later and after numerous promises of immediate payment, I have still not received the money!
This is made even worse by the fact that I am overseas, and my bank was pushed into overdraft without me knowing, because of the money owed!!
This is disgusting, and I am shocked that such a standard procedure of canceling a parking contract could render such terrible service.
