I have bought a second hand CRV executive 2.4 2010 model from a dealer in Bloemfontein a while ago, from Ferdi Smit.
However, I have approached him about 2 weeks ago to find out if I can buy another vehicle (Honda Jazz, Executive).
The reason form this is that I am finding that the CRV fuel consumption is high 8.2 Km/ L and that this is not going to be cost effective for me in the long run, therefore a smaller but more fuel efficient car.
I was prepared to buy a new vehicle.
The following transpired:
I was prepared to give a R23, 000.00 deposit - which would make up the shortfall that I was owing above the trade in value, and which would mean that he still get approximately R7, 000.00 below trade for the vehicle.
He indicated that he will approach Honda Head Office to see if he can get discount on a new vehicle - which he did confirm but I am unsure of the discounted amount provided.
He is not prepared to make the deal even though he will be taking the CRV for less than the trade. This to me does not bode well, the CRV is therefore worthless it seems as even the dealer that sold me the car does not even want to take it back for the trade value!
