My girlfriend is in the market for a Hyundai ix35 SUV and came across one for sale on Gumtree. It was advertised at Hyundai Stellenbosch for a good price. She contacted the salesman, Terence Joseph who confirmed in writing of the price of R229 900.
The following evening we checked gumtree and the price had suddenly risen by R 35 000 to R 264 000. I contacted the salesman, Terence on the following morning he confirmed that the price was now R 279 000.
I contacted the dealer principle, Stewart who seemed caught totally off-guard but confirmed that 'it was within their company's right' to increase their price as they deemed fit.
He was on the defensive and could only defend by attempting to attack verbally by saying that their pricing was non-negotiable.
His attitude towards me was unacceptable and I will ensure that none of my friends and colleagues never deal with Hyundai Stellenbosch at all.
Absolutely shocking service!
