I sent my vehicle in for a power steering check 13/01/2014 just after 9am
When I went to fetch it later in the day 4:30 or so (after i called -since it was time to leave work and had not heard any feedback on the progress of the tests that were being run on the vehicle-only then was i informed that there are other faults that have been identified and they (VW) had decided that they need to keep the vehicle for a few more days 2-3 to run the tests and obtain a full diagnostic.
I got into my car and instantly realised that the windscreen was cracked.
It was 100% fine when i brought the vehicle in for testing in the morning.
I made mention of this to the service consultant- Deon, and he informed me that he would make a note of the fault (cracked windscreen) on the job card.
Terrible service to say the least. I was not informed upon arrival that the windscreen had been cracked by mistake and that they would take responsibility and rectify it.
Had i not noticed this crack- which ran from the top to the bottom-very noticable and hard to ignore or miss- i wonder if anyone would have taken responsibility or acknowledged it at VW. I really dont think so.
